First full day of Spring is mild and dry, weekend looks wet

The dry pattern will continue for another day as the temps will dip into the low 60s Thursday.  Normal high temperatures for this time of year are the low to middle 50s so we are still well above our average.  Enjoy the dry pattern while we can, cooler and rainy weather is right around the corner.

Rain and mountain snow have crept back into the forecast as the high pressure ridge breaks down. This opens the door for some cloud cover Thursday followed by mountain snow and a few showers Friday.  The atmosphere needs to become a bit more saturated before the rain overtakes the area, but we are going to be dealing with more gray skies than blue Friday and a rainy and dreary pattern is slated for the weekend and early part of next week.

The overnight temperatures are likely to be just around the freezing mark, so not much is expected in the way of snow, except for early in the morning, around sunrise.  This will be the case for several days, starting Saturday. There will be off and on precipitation so bring the rain gear if you are planning any outdoor activities.

The highs over the weekend will be hovering around 50, so we are going to be a few degrees cooler than normal.  The rain and mountain snow will be light but fairly widespread.  This weather is typical of Spring, as we transition from the colder patterns to  the warmer ones.

Mountain passes will be snowy and travel will be dangerous at times.
