Rain lingers into Thursday, dry and warming this weekend

The rainy pattern will continue through the day Thursday with light rain and periods of mountain snow.  The snow will be problematic for travelers as they go through the passes, the rain will create some slick roads but no flooding issues are expected. 

The rain is moving into the region as it orbits an area of low pressure off the coast. This will continue until the low has moved well to the south.  This will occur later Thursday and will pave the way for high pressure to arrive an clear us out an dry the area.

The temperatures this week have been about 20° cooler than last week as we saw highs in the 50s verses the 70s of last week.  The 50s are more in line with our normal highs for late March, but since we were so mild last week, it feels cooler.  Highs over the weekend will be right on point, topping out in the middle 50s.

Next week the region will continue the run of sunny days as the high maintains a grip on the region. Temperature readings will top out in the middle to upper 60s to start the week and will stay there until at least the middle of the work week.

Mountain snow will continue to fall today and Thursday so the snow riders are pleased as the mountains continue to stockpile the snow.
