Warm once again today, spotty afternoon storms return

Today expect to see the warm pattern continue as highs reach the upper 70s and low 80s. A few clouds develop over the region and the flow of air arrives from the southwest. This flow will allow the region to warm up once again, and may provide the eastern counties with some isolated thunderstorms.   If you are out and about today, keep an eye to the sky as some of the storms may develop quickly.  I am not expecting much in the way of severe storms, but we may have some lightning strikes at times, which is always dangerous.

The warmth has also been accelerating the melting process of the snow, so some creeks and streams may be running fast and full today.

Monday will be warm as well as another ridge of high pressure develops over the eastern Pacific and warms the region.  The area will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny and the highs will be in the low to middle 80s. Expect more of the same on Tuesday.

Although we are only expected to reach the low 80s, we are still above normal for early June. Remember to stay hydrated in the heat, and never leave kids or pets in your car.
