Heat returns Tuesday, overall warm pattern remains

The area will spike once again in the 90s for one day, as we experienced over the weekend.  Highs across the area have one day of well above normal temps before we return to the 80s on Wednesday.  The winds will be noticeable but not to overwhelming and the fire danger for the area will be highlighted but may not reach warning levels.

There may be some strong storms over eastern Oregon Wednesday but will not develop in Central Oregon.  I do have a slight chance for some isolated storms in eastern Crook County Wednesday afternoon, so be alert for a rogue storm near the Prineville region.  Along the 97 highway there may be some building clouds, but little moisture to work with will keep the rain chances very low.

Thursday we cool down to the 70s for afternoon highs, which is near normal for late June.  The cool down will be short lived as the mercury returns to the 80s on Friday.

Overall, the pattern is dry so please be aware of anything that may spark a wildfire. We have had several small fires develop recently and been handled very well by hotshot crews and the like.  It is important to remember the slightest spark can develop into a dangerous brushfire or wildfire.
