Get ready for a heat wave starting tomorrow

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

Today will be warm with highs in the mid-80s. Expect sunny and dry conditions for the next few days. Overnight we'll be dropping into the 40s and 50s across the region.

A large dome of high pressure will begin to impact the area on Thursday, kicking off a heat wave. Temperatures will rise over the next few days, reaching the low 100s by Friday.

The majority of Central Oregon is under a Heat Advisory which goes in effect from noon Friday to Tuesday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are forecast to be the hottest days of the week.

Temperatures will be in the low 90s on the Fourth of July. Whether you’re floating in the river or having a BBQ, please take precautions when outside.

The persistent heat can lead to health issues and increase fire danger. Stay safe!
