Forest products permits unavailable at some Deschutes National Forest offices Oct. 1-3 due to database maintenance

U.S. Forest Service

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Some Deschutes National Forest offices, including the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District and the Redmond Air Center, will be unable to process and sell all forest products permits, including firewood collection, Matsutake mushroom permits and other free and chargeable collection permits from Tuesday, October 1, to Thursday, October 3. This temporary pause is due to permit database maintenance.

Offices will remain open during this period for other general business.

The Crescent and Sisters Ranger Districts will be issuing manual permits for forest product permits during this time. Crescent Ranger District will continue to offer Matsutake mushroom permits via manual permits. For other locations, firewood permits can be obtained through local vendors. A list of vendors can be found here: fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1174167.pdf.
