Bend woman found alive in remote area of Lane County
LOWELL, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Bend woman who had been missing since December 4 has been found alive and responsive.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Department, Cheryl Leigh Guajardo, of Bend, was last seen on December 3, driving in the Lowell area of Lane County. The area is located in the foothills of the Cascades, along Highway 58.
Searchers located Guajardo's vehicle this morning at about 11 a.m. on an overgrown spur road north of Lookout Point Lake. Shortly after, they found Guajardo alive and responsive. She was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The extensive search effort involved dozens of personnel, who drove thousands of miles and covered hundreds more on foot and by vehicle. Multiple drones and aircraft were also used to search the area from above.
