Mt. Bachelor throws itself a 67th birthday party, with everyone invited, as a strong start to the season continues

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Off the start of an early, stellar season, Mt. Bachelor celebrated its 67th birthday in style on Thursday – with a party for all, on the slopes of course.
The resort provided cake, ice cream, Deschutes beer for adults and Mountain Dew Baja Blast (non-alcoholic) for all from 1-2 p.m. Thursday on the West Village Lodge deck.
“It’s the perfect way to commemorate this milestone with family and friends,” they say.
The recent storms have dropped some three feet of snow in the past week, for a base depth at nearly 70 inches. Forecasters see “another solid week of snow” ahead, the resort said in its Thursday morning mountain update.

Today we celebrated Mt. Bachelor’s 67th birthday with complimentary cake, ice cream, beverages, and 360 degrees of skiing and riding! Summit opened shortly after 9:00 a.m. Thursday.
Friday marks the start of winter break for many schools in Central Oregon. Mt. This Saturday, Red Chair will spin early for Outplay 365 and Season Passholders, an exclusive Passholder Perk allowing Mt. Bachelor’s core skiers and riders to enjoy laps a full hour before the resort opens (weather permitting).
Finally, the Dirksen Derby 17 Snowboard Rally Race returns to Mt. Bachelor with racing starting on Saturday, December 21. This event features 100% hand-crafted parallel banked slalom race courses and is a staple community tradition bringing snowboarders and sit-skiers together for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and fun.
