Alleged drug dealer from Bend stopped, arrested in Jefferson County; drugs, stolen handgun seized
MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) – A Bend man accused of dealing drugs around the region was pulled over in Jefferson County and arrested on several charges recently and a search of his vehicle turned up powdered fentanyl, methamphetamine and a stolen handgun. drug agents said Friday.
The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team determined in an investigation that Christopher Javier Exposito, 31, of Bend, “was selling illegal narcotics in Central Oregon, Lt. Mike Landolt said.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team conducted a traffic stop on Exposito’s vehicle on Highway 26 near NW Cherry Lane.
Drug-detection K-9 Bonnie and her handler were called to the scene, and the dog alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle. A search by CODE detectives turned up a quantity of powdered fentanyl, methamphetamine, scales, packaging material, cash and a stolen handgun hidden in the center console, Landolt said.
Exposito was arrested on drug possession and delivery charges and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Landolt said the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation, which he said is continuing, with more arrests possible.
