A few more mild days until temperatures drop drastically on Friday

There is a chance for patchy freezing fog this morning, especially in the lower elevations. A Special Weather Statement for dense, patchy freezing fog was released for areas to our north. Weather doesn’t stop at county lines, so you can expect some of the same in Jefferson County, maybe just a little “patchier.”

Mild temperatures will continue for just a couple more days. We have highs today ranging from the mid 40s to the low 50s. Temperatures will be similar tomorrow. Clear blue skies will be overhead this afternoon. Get outside and enjoy these beautiful conditions while you can, because on Friday it’s getting chilly!

A northwest flow will bring cold air into our region by Friday, bringing our afternoon temperatures down to the mid 30s. Much of the country will be blasted by this cool arctic air for the following few days, with the Central US receiving the brunt of it. We’ll experience cold, below temperatures into early next week.

There will still be plenty of sunshine, but you can anticipate highs in the 30s and lows in the teens all weekend.

Have a great day today. Happy Wednesday.
