SELCO Scholarship program deadline draws near

Bend, Ore. (KTVZ) — The deadline is rapidly approaching to apply for a regional scholarship. SELCO Community Credit Union gives away 20 scholarships worth $3500 each. It's part of the SELCO Steps Up initiative which gives back to the communities the credit union serves. You don't even have to be a high schooler going to college to get this scholarship. Vocational students, non-traditional students, and community college students of any age are also eligible.

Central Oregon Regional Manager Sandy Wagner says "Helping our community in different ways is. Very important to us. We were founded by educators and that's how SELCO started, and so we want to make sure that we're supporting education because that's kind of where where we came from."

Only SELCO members and their families can apply. With all the SELCO branches in Central Oregon, you've got a higher chance of getting these scholarships than other areas. Applications are on SELCO's website but only accepted until the end of March.
