Heat sticks around on Monday

Hot and dry weather persists under a ridge of high pressure. Today is expected to be the hottest day of the period, but don't expect much relief tomorrow.

On Monday, daytime highs will climb into the 90s under sunny skies. Expect breezy to windy conditions with gusts ranging from 18 to 30 mph in the late afternoon.

It will be warm on Tuesday in the 80s, finally breaking from the 90s streak.

Fire danger continues to be elevated, which is normal for this time of year.

Several heat advisories are already in effect or will be issued soon across the state. While Central Oregon isn’t officially under one, that doesn’t mean this heat isn’t dangerous.

There are ways to enjoy it safely. Stay hydrated with lots of water and take frequent breaks if you are exerting yourself a bit.
