Community Conversations: A local production of ‘The Wolves’ brings the trials and tribulations of a girls’ soccer team to life
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — On the surface, it’s just a group of teenage girls warming up on a soccer field. But in The Wolves, the film captures much more than drills and stretches, highlighting the raw, unfiltered moments of adolescence.
The story follows a girls’ indoor soccer team as they navigate friendships, rivalries and the pressures of growing up. From quiet moments of self-doubt to loud celebrations of victory, the team’s journey is both familiar and deeply affecting.
Set against the backdrop of the soccer field, the film explores the small, intense moments that define adolescence, showing the courage, fear, and growth that happen both on and off the field.
Already receiving praise for its authentic portrayal of teen life, The Wolves finds beauty in the everyday struggles of adolescence and offers audiences a reminder that growing up is messy, complicated, and unforgettable.
The one-act play by Sarah DeLappe is being performed through Sunday, August 24 at The Greenhouse Cabaret in Bend. Click here for more information and tickets.
