Detective finishes testimony in the Samson Garner Trial

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -- Samson Garner’s trial continued today after the weekend and holiday recess.

Garner is on trial, accused of planning a mass shooting at Smith Rock in 2023.

Today, Garner was in court for the 9th day of his trial.

During the testimony of a Deschutes County Sheriff's Deputy, the prosecution showed several pieces of evidence taken from the car and the home of Mr. Garner.

Some of the items that were shown include a Kevlar helmet and the original trigger from the gun found in his home, as well as running shoes, a drone, binoculars, headphones, clothes, a gaming device, and a laptop were found in his car.

During cross-examination, the detective said Garners switched out the trigger for a lighter one, which may have made it easier to pull.

The ammunition recovered was a 5.56 green-tipped bullets that were found in a Samsonite suitcase.

The Detective also discussed Garner's search history leading up to his eventual arrest, which included searches related to open carry laws and guns on BLM land.

Garner’s trial is expected to go through September 11th.
