The last hot day before Central Oregon starts progressively cooling
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
Cloud cover yesterday was thick enough that Bend missed the 90 degree mark, officially ending the heat wave. Temperatures today will be in the upper 80s and low 90s. You can plan for cooling temperatures through the weekend, with the trend continuing into early next week.
Generally, I’m expecting quiet weather today. Although there is a very slight chance for a stray shower, most of you should stay dry and variably cloudy with better chances for storms returning tomorrow afternoon.
Storm chances look slim and spotty Saturday and Sunday, but we’ll continue to provide updates as things change. Our models have had trouble agreeing on how these storms will shape up this week.
An upper level low pressure will be bringing big changes for us in the coming days. Temperatures will be near normal by Sunday but below normal early next week. Highs only look to top out in the 60s and low 70s at the top of next week, which might tempt you to pull out those fall sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes.
Next week, spotty storms turn into off and on rain showers with the slight chance for embedded thunderstorms. Chances for storms slim each day as the pattern becomes more showery, adding to that “fall-feel”.
Happy Thursday! Have a nice day.
