Local Alert Weather Day: Monday, for a mix of rain and snow that will impact the morning commute

KTVZ-TV

Overnight Sunday into Monday the area will receive a mix of rain and snow that will impact the morning commute.  There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place for portions of the Central Oregon beginning at 4 pm Sunday afternoon through Monday morning with the bulk of the wintry weather occurring overnight.

The snow level is expected to be above 4000 feet, and includes the cities of Sunriver, La Pine and Sisters in the Advisory.  The impacts will include slick roads and reduced visibilities across the mountain passes as well as southern and western Deschutes County and western Jefferson County.

We have issued the Yellow Local Alert Day for Monday as this will be the most impactful time frame due to the timing and profile of the wintry weather.

Sunday night will see a mix of rain and snow so prepare for slow traffic patterns into the night.
