Cold air invades the region tonight, drying pattern as well
(KTVZ, Bend Ore.) Cold air will be diving into the region tonight as the skies clear. The combination of clearing skies, light winds and a pocket of cold air arriving from the northeast will see temps drop below freezing most locations tonight.
The temperatures in the region will be in the 20s as the skies clear. The cold air is also dry so expect to see mostly clear skies overnight. The snow that has fallen in the mountains over the weekend has come to an end, but the winter-like temperatures remain.

Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny as the area stays on the chilly side. Highs will be in the upper 40s and low 50s through the region. Overnight the mercury will dip to the coldest of this young fall season, bottoming out in the teens and twenties. Freeze warnings are not being issued in areas that have already seen the first hard freeze, but that does not mean it won’t be cold, it will be.
A warmer pattern arrives Wednesday as the temps return to the 60s. Mostly sunny skies and light winds are likely. This warmer weather will continue as we move forward through the rest of the week.
Thursday and Friday will be quiet with highs near normal for mid-October, hitting the low to middle 60s. Saturday should be the warmest day of this forecast period, topping out in the low 70s and upper 60s.
Rain and mountain snow return next weekend with a wave of showers arriving early in the day.
