Ice Season Begins at Bend’s Pavilion with Public Skating, Hockey and Curling

Update: Adding video

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The chill in the air means ice season has officially returned to The Pavilion, where Bend Park and Recreation District has opened the rink for ice skating, hockey and curling through early April, weather permitting.

The Pavilion is open seven days a week from early morning to late at night, offering daily public skating sessions with no reservations required. Skate rentals and helmets are available on-site.

“The arrival of the ice sheet is welcomed by our staff as well as the community and we’re pleased that the weather changed just in time to assist with the ice building,” said Clare Gordon, The Pavilion manager. “We are excited for a full season of registration programs, drop-in sessions and special events starting immediately.”

A Halloween Skate will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Admission is $8 per person and includes skate rental.
