Local Alert Day issued for Tuesday into Wednesday, a windy and rainy week will follow, with snow mixed in at times
Bend, Ore (KTVZ)-- The week ahead will be very active as another batch of moisture arrives from the Pacific. The first in a series of rain and snow events begins late Tuesday night and lingers into Wednesday morning. Rain changes to a wintry mix during the overnight hours and ends as snow before noon Wednesday. Forecast temperatures indicate Central Oregon will be above freezing most of the week, so the best chance for snow will be overnights.
A Local Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday and will continue into Wednesday morning. Gusts near 60 along with the rain may cause trees to topple onto power lines or at the very least, some broken limbs on to power lines. A High Wind Warning in in place for portions of Central Oregon from 10 pm Tuesday night until 4 pm Wednesday. Winds relax by Wednesday morning. Rainy pattern will continue off and on the rest of the week.


Gusty winds will be ramping up in the eveing.

Currently the storm track is well north of the region but the general flow this week will allow for rainy and snowy weather to develop in Central Oregon.
Thursday rain and snow will impact the region most of the day and will be mostly rain after mid-morning. The flow of moisture remains through Friday with a mix of rain and snow overnight, followed by cold rain Friday.
Saturday will be partly sunny with some light snow falling across the Cascades only. Highs will be in the middle 40s. Another batch of rain and snow arrives Sunday and Monday with the mix being overnight and the day being mostly rain.
Sloppy and slick roads will be common over the next several days so make sure to have wiper fluid filled and your rain gear, especially your waterproof boots, handy.
All week the region will be experiencing windy conditions as well. Sustained winds will be around 15 -20 at times with gusts near 35.
More robust winds and rainy/snowy conditions are likely north and west of the region. South of Central Oregon will also be impacted by rain and wind along with some snow.
