Furry Friends: Darling Dusty loves his squeaky toys!

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- This week's Furry Friend is Dusty, a 1 1/2 year old mixed breed with a very playful spirit.

Dusty came into the shelter as a stray but loves meeting new people and playing with his toys!

"We do know that he's mixed with goofiness and love and happiness. He's done really well with all the dog friends that he has met here. He absolutely loves meeting people," said Hannah Loftis, the shelter manager at Brightside. "He is a lot of energy. He is ready to go to a home whose ready to accept all that energy and be okay with all of the squeaky toys."

Dusty is working on his manners but he knows basic tricks like 'sit' and 'lay down'. He is still in his puppy years and would do best in a home with someone willing to work with him while he grows.

If you have a squeaky toy, he's sure to become your best friend!

Brightside is currently doing a 'Home for the Holidays' foster push, allowing shelter animals to have a place to stay outside of the shelter during the holiday season.

"There's so many amazing dogs here at Brightside just like Dusty looking for a home. Sometimes it can be really hard to make that commitment of a forever. So we do have an amazing foster program. Right now, we're also doing our 'Home for the Holidays', so you're able to take one of our pups home and be able to give them that taste of it," Hannah said. "Being able to show them what a home is and be able to get them situated with more knowledge so that we can find them that forever, and it gets them out of the shelter for a great time."
