Furry Friends: Samantha the sweet senior pup

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- This week's Furry Friend is Samantha, an 8-9 year old mixed breed looking for her forever home at Brightside Animal Center in Redmond!

Samantha is the sweetest senior pup. She came into the shelter as a transfer and not much is known about her history. She had head trauma and has received extensive care from the team at Brightside.

Despite her medical challenges, she has proven herself to be incredibly friendly and loving.

"Samantha came to us back in October. She has been receiving a lot of medical assistance. She came to us with a very severe head wound that we are currently helping to treat, and so far has gone excellent," said Hannah Loftis, the shelter manager at Brightside. "She is an older girl. She's about 8 to 9 years old. And with that, she does have some senior medical challenges that we're working through and will absolutely discuss with her adopter. She loves people. She has done fantastic with cats in her foster home. She's a little wary of other dogs. But she's done excellent and we love her so much."

Hannah said even if you can't adopt Samantha right now, a foster home willing to take her in in the meantime would be extremely beneficial.

"She's a girl with some challenges like separation anxiety, just wanting to be loved, but she deserves everything," Hannah said.
