LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: Areas of dense freezing fog, light snow impacting travel

KTVZ-TV

We have issued an Local Alert Weather Day today for dense freezing fog this morning across portions of Central Oregon today.

In addition to the fog, we’ve also had patchy freezing drizzle and light snow, which has created a thin icy glaze on some roads and surfaces.

This has led to poor visibility on the road and slick driving conditions. If you run into dense fog, slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow for extra space between your vehicle and those around you.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for freezing fog through 10am, but it may be extended if conditions don’t improve.

Be safe out there.
