UPDATE: Hwy. 126 reopens after injury crash at Powell Butte Highway intersection

(Update: Highway 126 reopens after crash)

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Oregon Highway 126 were closed in both directions for 2 1/2 hours Wednesday morning due to an injury crash at the Powell Butte Highway intersection.

The crash was reported around 9 a.m. between Redmond and Prineville at milepost 7. ODOT advised drivers it would be an extended closure and urged that they urged to use alternate routes. They said the highway reopened around 11:30 a.m.

The Crook County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post: that the highway would be closed in both directions "for a substantial period of time" due to the crash and also urged motorists to avoid the area.

They noted that Oregon State Police is the primary agency investigating this crash, since it occurred on a state highway.

ODOT TripCheck cameras showed a line of traffic shortly after the crash.

KTVZ News has reached out to ODOT and OSP for more information and will update this story as we get new details.
