LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: THURSDAY FOR SNOW AND SLICK TRAVEL ACROSS THE HIGH DESERT

KTVZ-TV

A Local Alert Day goes into effect after midnight as snow showers arrive across the High Desert. Expect to see about an inch or two along Highway 97, but three to four inches may fall in Crook County by the end of Thursday. Travel will be impacted along 20 and 26 through eastern Deschutes and Crook Counties most of the afternoon and evening.

We issue the Local Alert Weather Days when the weather will impact your daily plans and routine. This event is more of an inconvenient snow day, but some areas may experience bursts of snow and wind that can reduce visibility and cause travel issues. The primary concern from the Local Alert Weather Team is your safety and we issues these alerts not to alarm you, but to inform you.

If you need to change your plans or make adjustments to your routine, the Local Alert Weather Days gives you an advanced notice that impactful conditions are on the way.

Stay safe and informed.
