Pleasant St. Patrick’s Day ahead with above normal highs

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A strong ridge of high pressure is building over the West, bringing dry conditions and well above normal temperatures. For mid March, we typically see highs in the low 50s. This week, we are seeing a string of 70 degree days.

We’re feeling lucky with today’s St. Patrick’s Day forecast. Expect a very pleasant day with low 70s, partly cloudy skies, and light winds. Perfect for any outdoor plans.

By midweek, highs rise into the mid to upper 70s. A few locations could see record highs on Thursday as temperatures reach their peak.

Friday marks the Vernal Equinox when day and night are nearly equal in length. it signals the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and fall in the Southern Hemisphere.

It’s hard to believe we’re still in winter for a few more days when it feels more like June.

Clouds will increase on Friday, with a chance for a few brief showers on Saturday. Temperatures cool slightly over the weekend into the upper 50s and low 60s, but that’s still above normal for this time of year.
