Rain chances increase tonight in anticipation of a rainy day on Thursday

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Howdy all! Happy Wednesday to you!  For all my rain lovers- get ready! Rain chances are on the rise tonight, with Thursday our best next chance to see some much-needed moisture across Central Oregon.

My confidence is now high that most of the region will see some rain tomorrow, though I don't expect it to disrupt any of your plans. Rainfall totals will remain light, with most communities picking up just a few hundredths of an inch. Rain chances dwindle by Thursday evening as the system moves out, which could set us up for drier conditions as soon as Thursday night. By Friday, we are back to mostly dry. 

There's also going to be a big change in temperatures, with Thursday's highs only reaching the low 60s before dropping into the low 50s Friday. Average is about 61 degrees this time of year, so you'll definitely want to grab a jacket if you're heading outside.

As we look ahead to the weekend, temperatures will return to near normal for a quieter and drier weekend. Overnight temperatures will be chilly, too, with lows dropping below freezing Friday night into Saturday morning. We'll continue to track cold mornings into next week, so keep those extra layers handy!
