Snow Report: Clear Skies and High Elevation Sun

The big story for the Cascades today is the sunshine and the warm-up. We are looking at beautiful, clear conditions for the resorts and dry pavement for the mountain passes heading into the work week.

Resort Update:

  • Mt. Bachelor: Still holding a base of about 37 inches. With freezing levels sitting near 11,000 feet today, expect those surfaces to soften up quickly.
  • Mt. Hood Meadows: Their final full week of the season is underway with a 55-inch base. They are currently scheduled to wrap up operations on April 12.
  • Hoodoo: Remains closed for the season.

Mountain Passes:

Travel remains easy today across Santiam (Hwy 20)Willamette (Hwy 58), and The Pass (Hwy 46). We have dry roads and high visibility across the board.

Heads Up: While it's calm now, we are tracking 40 mph gusts for the Cascade crest on Tuesday. This wind shift is the first sign of a cooler system that could bring a light mix of rain or snow to the peaks by the weekend.
