BREAKING NEWS: Wildfire Reported on Pine Mountain, Air Attack Underway

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Pine Mountain Fire, a wildfire that was previously a prescribed burn, has grown to an estimated 1,500 acres and is located 14 miles southeast of Bend. Despite forecasted weather conditions being within parameters for the prescribed burn, multiple spot fires occurred outside of the unit boundary. Additional resources, including hotshot crews, engines, and aircraft, have been called in to contain the fire. Smoke from the Pine Mountain Fire may be visible from Highway 20, Bend, and the Newberry Caldera.

WATCH DUTY is reporting a wildfire is currently burning on Pine Mountain. Firefighters tell KTVZ News, this was a prescribed burn, however - new reporting from WATCH DUTY says the fire is actually a wildfire. According to WATCH DUTY, an attack is underway.
