THIS JUST IN: Bend Police delays issuing citations relating to new red light cameras

MGN

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Bend Police announced on social media Friday morning the department continues to test the city's new red light camera system, including how the automated traffic enforcement program communicates between the department, the court system and the county's 911 center.

Due to ongoing testing, the department is delaying issuing citations related to the automated traffic enforcement cameras.

The department says that between April 23rd and May 7th, the agency issued 680 warnings to drivers for running red lights and speeding - at the three intersections where the cameras are located. That is an average of 45 warnings being issued each day.

Bend Police will inform the community when they start to issue citations.
