High Desert warmth builds into the weekend

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - It’s been a quiet week across the High Desert as high pressure continues to bring dry and warmer weather.

The gradual warm up continues today, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s. Thursday may bring a few more clouds at times, but overall we’re expecting mostly sunny skies.

If you were hoping for warm weather heading into the holiday weekend, you’re in luck.

Expect a summer-like feel Friday, Saturday and Sunday with highs climbing into the 80s. The records for this weekend are in the 90s, so we’re not expecting record breaking heat, but temperatures will still run about 15 degrees above normal.

Sunday will be a transition day, with more clouds moving in during the afternoon. Temperatures cool back into the low 70s for Memorial Day on Monday. That’s still above normal, just not as warm as the weekend.

Memorial Day looks partly to mostly cloudy, with dry conditions expected through the day across Central Oregon. Our next chance for rain arrives Monday night into Tuesday.

Tuesday looks cooler and more unsettled, with off and on showers, mostly cloudy skies, and highs only reaching the low 60s. Light rain may linger into Wednesday, but temperatures should rebound back into the low 70s.
