School year officially comes to a close for Central Oregon districts, Bend PD SRO’s ready for summer fun

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- As the temperatures start to rise and summer activities get underway, the school year is officially coming to a close for Central Oregon districts.

The second week of June, districts throughout our region are dismissing students for summer break.

As a reminder, local law enforcement wants to remind the public, with children out of class, you will see more kids on bikes and sidewalks, so be more cautious when driving in neighborhoods.

The Bend Police Department posted the attached video to Facebook, saying "It's the last day of school, and our school resource officers hope you all have a safe and wonderful summer! They may not be at schools this summer, but they'll be hard at work keeping our community safe on patrol - so call us if you need us."

From all of us here at KTVZ News, have a safe and fun summer!
