High Desert Chamber Music Spotlight Chamber

The High Desert Chamber Music (HDCM) Spotlight Chamber Players will present their final performance of the season on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Whispering Winds Retirement in Bend, Ore. This concert, which is free and open to the public, marks the culmination of the ensemble's intensive chamber music study.

The Spotlight Chamber Players program, now in its eighteenth season under High Desert Chamber Music, provides free instruction in chamber music skills and techniques. This opportunity is extended to violin, viola, cello, bass and piano students in grades six through twelve who have at least three years of private study and demonstrate intermediate to advanced playing levels. High Desert Chamber Music's mission is to bring exceptional chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon.

The performing ensemble for this final concert includes Madeleine Bloom on violin, Peyton Cape on cello, Parker Carlson on violin, Ezra Oncken on violin and Harper Renfroe on piano.

Past graduates of the Spotlight Chamber Players program have gone on to pursue music performance degrees. These institutions include the Colburn Conservatory of Music, the Eastman School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory.

The program is devoted exclusively to the study and performance of chamber music skills and techniques.

This free public performance will feature music by Handel, Shostakovich, Haydn and other composers, concluding the ensemble's season.
