Sunny start to the week before late-week rain chances

Central Oregon is in for a clear, sunny start to the workweek, though the National Weather Service is tracking a significant pattern shift that will bring cooler temperatures and rain chances by Friday.

Tonight’s Outlook

Expect clear skies across the tri-county area tonight. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-40s to lower 50s for Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Prineville. Along the East Slopes of the Cascades—including Sisters, Sunriver, and La Pine—lows will sit in the lower 40s to lower 50s. Evening north winds of 5 to 15 mph will lighten up overnight.

Heading Out the Door Monday

Monday brings wall-to-wall sunshine. Daytime highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s for most of Central Oregon, while mountain communities can expect highs in the mid-70s to lower 80s. Light morning winds will become northeasterly at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon, with occasional gusts up to 20 mph.

The Extended Midweek Trend

  • Tuesday & Wednesday: The dry, warm stretch peaks. Expect sunny skies with highs reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s.
  • Thursday: Skies remain sunny but a cooling trend begins, dropping highs into the lower to mid-80s before a 40% chance of showers moves in overnight.
  • Friday & Saturday: A major shift brings breezy, mostly cloudy conditions. Highs will drop significantly into the 60s with a continuing chance of rain showers.
