Very warm through the weekend, heat builds early next week

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We're tracking a very warm and dry pattern across Central Oregon.

We'll enjoy another mostly sunny day today, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. Friday warms up by just a degree or two, so you'll hardly notice a difference.

Expect light winds out of the north today. Winds will pick up a bit on Friday, becoming breezy during the afternoon.

Plenty of sunshine returns this weekend as highs reach the upper 80s. Overnight lows will remain in the 40s and 50s over the next few days.

A large area of high pressure will strengthen early next week bringing hotter temperatures. Highs are expected to reach the 90s from Monday of next week through at least Wednesday.

Please continue to follow all fire restrictions and burn bans. With drought conditions still a concern this summer, we all play a role in helping prevent human-caused wildfires.

The forecast remains very dry, with no rain in sight. We'll continue to monitor the pattern and let you know if any shower or thunderstorm chances develop.
