This Just In: Wanted Suspect, Gabriel Dean Christensen, Arrested

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Gabriel Dean Christensen, 41, was arrested yesterday evening in Bend after a pursuit at the Stillwater Crossing Apartments. Christensen, who was wanted as a suspect in a July 7 assault, fled from officers and was taken into custody with the assistance of a K9.

The arrest occurred at approximately 9:36 p.m. yesterday, Friday, July 10.

Christensen had previously evaded law enforcement on Thursday, July 9, when he fled from a traffic stop in the area of NE Neff Road and 27th Street. When officers approached him at the Stillwater Crossing Apartments in the 60800 block of SW Atwood Drive, he again attempted to run away.

K9 Buck was deployed during the arrest and bit Christensen. Officers provided medical treatment to Christensen at the scene until Bend Fire medics arrived and transported him to St. Charles Bend.

Following medical treatment, Christensen was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail. He faces charges including two counts of strangulation, two counts of fourth-degree assault, menacing, coercion, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), two counts of third-degree escape, attempting to elude a police officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a warrant.
