MISSING CHILDREN ALERT: Two Bend Children Reported Missing by ODHS, Believed to be in Danger

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), Child Welfare Division, is asking for public assistance to locate Julian Hawes, age 10 and Mahina Hawes, age 9. The children went missing from Bend on July 23 and are believed to be in danger.

ODHS is requesting that anyone who sees Hawes or Hawes contact 911 or local law enforcement immediately. The children are suspected to be within Deschutes County, specifically in either Bend or Redmond.

The Oregon Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Division, sometimes issues media alerts for missing children to help locate them and assess their safety. When a child goes missing, ODHS may need to find them to ensure their well-being. In some cases, a child may go missing multiple times, leading to more than one public alert.

The public can report suspected child abuse by calling the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline at one-855-503-SAFE (7233). This toll-free number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to report abuse of any child or adult to the Oregon Department of Human Services.
