Setting up for a rainy start to September

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - September 1 marks the official start of meteorological fall, and the weather will begin to feel more like the season.

We begin a rainy pattern today, though the rain won’t arrive until very late in the day. The change in weather is being driven by a couple of low pressure systems moving through the Pacific Northwest.

Expect mostly sunny skies early, with clouds increasing throughout Tuesday. Highs will range from the mid 70s to low 80s.

Expect a rainy Wednesday with steady showers throughout the day. Get ready for some cooler temperatures as we drop into the upper 60s.

Thursday will be a mix of some sunshine and some rain. The rain becomes slightly more widespread on Friday. This week looks more showery than stormy, with cooler temperatures helping to limit thunderstorm development.

Partly cloudy skies return Saturday, with highs in the upper 60s. More rain is possible Sunday and Monday, continuing the wet start to September and providing welcome relief for firefighters.
