Fall feel Wednesday with summer-like temperatures returning this weekend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Central Oregon could see a few lingering showers this morning, but most of Wednesday will be quiet and cool.

Highs will reach the 60s, with a few spots climbing into the low 70s. Winds will increase this afternoon and evening, with gusts near 25 to 30 mph.

Another round of rain will move in from the east Thursday, bringing off and on showers before drier conditions return Friday.

A warming trend will develop toward the end of the week. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 70s Friday under partly cloudy skies.

The final few days of summer will be warm and sunny, with temperatures returning to the low to mid 80s. Highs will reach the low 80s Monday, the last full day of summer.

Fall officially begins Tuesday, with the autumnal equinox occurring at 5:05 p.m. local time. This is when the sun’s direct rays cross the equator and move into the Southern Hemisphere. Daylight and darkness will be nearly equal, followed by increasingly shorter days throughout the fall.

Tuesday will be partly to mostly cloudy and cooler, with highs in the low 70s.
