BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A GoFundMe fundraiser is currently underway for Gabe Coler, the lead forecaster at the Central Oregon Avalanche Center, after he was reportedly injured in a mountain biking accident in Canada on Friday, October 2nd. According to the fundraiser, Coler had to be transported by helicopter to Vancouver for trauma care and has undergone multiple facial surgeries. It adds, Coler will also need dental work and rehab once he recovers from surgery.

The fundraiser states Coler is a integral member of the outdoors community in Central Oregon, and he has helped grow the Central Oregon Avalanche Center since it began. He is also a IFMGA mountain guide and avalanche educator, according to the GoFundMe.

The GoFundMe indicates a meal train will begin once Coler is back home in Central Oregon. The fundraiser has raised more than $16,000 at the time of this article's publishing.
