Beyond the Score, Ep. 65: Oregon State’s offense stays hot in fourth straight win

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ)-- Oregon State has outscored its opponents 207-64 over its last four games, extending its winning streak to four straight as the Beavers continue to build momentum.

The Beaver offense is firing on all cylinders, and true freshman wide receiver Jesse Legree has emerged as a major reason for the team's success.

After scoring his second touchdown, Legree hit the Heisman pose. Following the game, he was asked about the celebration.

Legree has quickly become one of the nation's top receivers, while quarterback Braden Atkinson continues to put up historic numbers. Through six games, Legree leads the country in receiving yards and touchdown receptions despite having just 38 catches. Atkinson has also been among the nation's top passers, leading the country in passing yards and passing touchdowns with 21 scores.

A year ago, things were at rock bottom for Beaver fans. Now, a new spark is building in Corvallis, and the team's recent success has started to generate national attention.

While some may question whether Oregon State has a realistic shot at reaching the College Football Playoff, the Beavers are beginning to put themselves in the conversation. This week, Oregon State received a vote in the AP Top 25 poll, an early sign that the program is gaining recognition.

If the Beavers can maintain their current pace and take down Boise State later this season, they could strengthen their case to be the Group of Six representative in the College Football Playoff.

With four straight wins, a high-powered offense and two young stars making headlines, Oregon State is giving its fans plenty of reasons to believe in what's happening in Corvallis.
