BREAKING NEWS: Silver Rail Elementary School Shooter Identified, Griffin J. John II

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Law enforcement officials into the deadly school shooting at Bend' Silver Rail Elementary School have identified the shooter as Griffin J. John II. Griffin was born on Aug. 20, 2010.

According to NBC News, the firearm used in the incident was purchased by Griffin's mother in August around the time of his birthday, according to officials.

Investigators are also examining Griffin's background. Two officials tell NBC News they are looking into whether he possibly attended Silver Rail Elementary School.

Additionally, law enforcement officers are reviewing his online activity. One official said investigators are attempting to determine the contents of Griffin's social media accounts, including the types of materials and potential ideologies he may have accessed online.
