Warm & dry Friday, cooler pattern ahead with rain next week

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - High pressure over the West Coast will keep Central Oregon under clear skies today.

Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s, keeping us above normal for mid-October.

The pattern begins to change tonight as a weak system passes mainly to our north. It will bring cooler temperatures and increasing clouds, but the chance of rain remains very low.

Overnight temperatures will be chilly, though most areas are expected to stay above freezing.

Highs will fall into the mid to upper 60s this weekend. Sunday looks dry, with partly cloudy skies.

Another system is expected to move into the Pacific Northwest Monday night into Tuesday, bringing chances for rain that could continue into the middle of next week. Its exact track and strength remain uncertain, so rainfall amounts are still unclear.

The cooler pattern will also bring below-normal temperatures for much of next week.

Highs could drop into the mid 50s Monday and Tuesday before edging into the upper 50s Wednesday and Thursday.
