Crook County HS choir students qualify for state competition

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Central Oregon Music Education Association held its regional Vocal Solo and Ensemble Contest Saturday, Feb. 29 at Ridgeview High School. Three Crook County High School ensembles and 13 soloists competed.

Every CCHS soloist and ensemble received either a Superior or an Excellent score, reflecting their commitment to excellence and their hard work and preparation for the event.

Three competitors qualified for the state competition. Sophomore Meredith Cooper won the Alto Division and will compete at state May 2. Junior Deusce Catt is the first alternate in the Tenor Division. The Vocal Adrenaline jazz choir is the first alternative for the Large Mixed Ensemble Division.

CCHS Choir Director Sue Green coached the student soloists and ensembles, and Melissa Barker accompanied the performers.
