Bend Dispute Call Leads to 3 Drug Arrests

Officers called to a domestic dispute at a northeast Bend home early Saturday made no arrests in that matter, but did take three people into custody on drugs and other charges, also removing two children from the home, police reported.

Around 1:30 a.m. officers were called to a reported domestic dispute at 63351 Vogt Road, said Sgt. Ron Taylor.

Officers were told Manuel Jose Ortiz, 35, and girlfriend Courtney Danielle Wampler, 29, had gotten in a verbal argument, prompting roommate Tina Louise Delgado, 26, to call police when the argument became heated.

Officers determined the argument was not physical, and no arrests would be made regarding the dispute, Taylor said.

However, officers located methamphetamine paraphernalia, cash and a firearm at the home, the sergeant said.

Taylor said a 12-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy were at the home, in close proximity to the drugs. The state Department of Human Services was notified, and the children were released to a relative, pending further investigation, he said.

The three suspects were taken to the Deschutes County Jail and booked on drug possession manufacturing and distribution charges. Ortiz and Delgado also face charges of frequenting a place where drugs are used and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Bail was set at $37,500 for Ortiz and Delgado and $30,000 for Wampler.
