Kennel Club Dog Show a Barkin’ Good Time
Nearly 100 breeds of four-legged friends are competing, to be the top dog in one of Central Oregon’s biggest shows.
The Mount Bachelor Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show began Friday morning and runs through Sunday at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.
More than 1,500 owners and handlers come together with their canines to compete in agility, obedience, conformation and rally. Even Elliot the hospitality dog made his rounds.
It’s a free show, and there is a raffle to help support many programs put on by the kennel club and other local businesses. Some of the prizes include gift certificates and gift baskets full of treats and toys for your pup.
“It’s definitely a community,” said Jonathan Sampson, show chair of the Mt. Bachelor Kennel Club. “You get to know the people. We see them a lot of weekends through the year, and there is a lot of comradeship and seeing great dogs. And it’s just a bout having a good time,”
The dog show runs from 8:00a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Deschutes County Expo Center.
And the best part: You don’t have to pay to park or get into the show.
