Crime Stoppers: Unlocked Cars at CRR Targeted

KTVZ

Jefferson County sheriff?s deputies asked the public for help Sunday in identifying whoever is responsible for recent thefts from unlocked vehicles on Crooked River Ranch.

More than 10 vehicles have been illegally entered and searched in the past week, with multiple items stolen, said sheriff?s Det. Jake Fowler.

In every instance, he said, the vehicles have been unlocked and parked in front of residences on the ranch, the detective said.

Items taken include wallets and electronic items such as iPods, Fowler said.

The thefts have taken place in the early-morning hours, he said, and the suspect(s) have gone to every home on the street targeted, checking for unlocked cars.

Fowler declined to identify what streets the car break-ins occurred on but said there were two separate incidents, believed to be the same suspects, one at the north end of the ranch and the other at the south end.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts or other crimes or suspicious activities in the area was asked to contact the sheriff?s office at (541) 475-6520.

Fowler also reminded residents to lock their cars and remove any valuable items from their cars when not in use.
