Prineville Man Jailed, Accused of Abusing Teen
A 27-year-old Prineville man has been arrested on 17 abuse charges, accused of sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl in Prineville and at locations in Deschutes County, police said Thursday.
Prineville police arrested Aaron Michael Miller in Bend on Wednesday, the same day a search was conducted at his home following an investigation that took only a few days to conclude, said Capt. Michael Boyd.
?The victim is not related to Mr. Miller, but the two knew each other,? Boyd said in a news release.
The case came to light when the Prineville teen was speaking to an officer on an unrelated matter and told the officer what had taken place, Boyd told KTVZ.COM.
A search warrant was served at Miller?s Prineville home by city police, assisted by Crook County sheriff?s deputies, Boyd said.
Miller was being held on $85,000 bail Thursday at the county jail in Prineville 11 felony charges of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, two counts of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse, five counts of third-degree rape and three counts of third-degree sodomy, according to Boyd.
The six Class A misdemeanors include five counts of third-degree sex abuse and one count of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.
The Crook County District Attorney?s Office is working with their counterparts in Deschutes County regarding the case, Boyd said.
Boyd said there?s been no information to this point to indicate there were any other alleged victims. However, anyone with information on the matter was urged to contact Prineville police at (541) 447-4168.
