How About an RV for Mother’s Day?

KTVZ

What did you get your Mother for Mother’s Day? Maybe flowers, a card — or what about an RV?

The Big Country RV Show general sales manager says a lot of people were out at the show Sunday, buying mom a new RV.

Held at the Deshutes County Fair and Expo Center, there was a wide variety of RV’s, 250 units, to choose from.

Big Country RV tries to put on an RV show once a month.

This time was a little different, though — the public was invited to pan for real gold.

The Lifestyle Store in Bend and the High Desert Treasure Club showed people how to find the treasure.

“Every show, we try to have some kind of theme to the people out,” said Kyle Holmes, general manager. “Here, no matter if it’s the gold panning or whether we have the Lions Club out here, but just to get the public out here and have a nice weekend and just have something fun to try.”

Darrell Mounts, president of the High Desert Treasure Club, says a lot of people don’t know what real gold looks like.

This weekend gave the public the opportunity to see with their own eyes, and to see the fun aspect of panning.

Mounts says panning is very relaxing and is a good way to get away from the office.
