KTVZ

Meyer Memorial Trust announced Wednesday that its June awards included ones totaling more than $111,,000 to six tax-exempt organizations in Central Oregon.

These awards were part of a total 65 grants for nearly $2.4 million to nonprofits in Oregon and Clark County, Washington.

The majority of the grants – 45 in total – were made under MMT’s Grassroots Grants program, which provides key support to projects important to smaller nonprofits and communities.

These grants bring the total amount awarded since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to more than $565 million, including more than $19.3 million to groups in Central Oregon.

Meyer Memorial Trust is the largest private foundation in Oregon, with assets of approximately $622 million. The Board of Trustees — which includes Debbie Craig, John Emrick, Orcilia Ziga Forbes, George Puentes and Gerry Pratt — meets monthly to make grants.
