Two hurt in rollover crash near Willamette Pass
A passing motorist Friday morning spotted a crashed pickup with two injured people inside on Waldo Lake Road near the Willamette Pass Ski area, about eight hours after the crash occurred, Oregon State Police said.
The driver and passenger were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
According to Senior Trooper Ron Martin, around 7:45 a.m., a passing motorist spotted the wreckage off Waldo Lake Road near milepost 12. OSP and Oakridge Fire Department responded to the scene,.
The two occupants were extricated from the vehicle before being taken to a hospital.
A preliminary investigation indicated the crash occurred Thursday, around 11:30 p.m. Cassi Jones, 53, from Oakridge, was driving a 2007 Ford F150 pickup when she got lost while traveling to Wickiup Reservoir to meet family on a camping trip.
As the pickup negotiated a left curve, it left the road, struck a guardrail and hit several trees before coming to rest on its top.
Jones was wearing her seat belt but passenger Glennis Burke, 52, of Oakridge, was not, troopers said.
